Featured Station - Alice 105.9

Alice 105.9 is Denver’s station for BJ, Howie and Jennifer, Slacker and Steve and Alice artists like Matchbox Twenty, Maroon 5, Daughtry, Pink, John Mayer and Coldplay. The music is complemented by lively, entertaining and often irreverent talk and discussion. Alice works year-round to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network and brought in $1.5 million alone during our three-day radio-thon in 2008.

BJ, Howie and Jennifer’s Maroon 5 Private Performance

The Alice Morning Show snuck 20 lucky Alice listeners backstage before September’s Maroon 5/Counting Crows show for their own private acoustic “concert before the concert!” Adam and Maroon 5 performed a couple of songs, noshed on some swanky food and drink and mingled with the Alice fans backstage.

Slacker and Steve’s Hugs for the Hospital

This August, Slacker and Steve set out to break the world hugging record and raise money for Children’s Miracle Network. Hundreds showed up at the Hard Rock Denver for free lunch and a hug, as the guys hugged over 1,000 people and raised over $60,000!

AuNatureAlice

Stripped down… exclusive… intimate… it’s AuNaturAlice: our private concerts for Alice music fans hosted by Alice’s music expert Sam Hill. Both of this year’s editions sold out in a matter of minutes. In April, Gavin DeGraw and Jason Mraz played for the 300 lucky listeners at Soiled Dove Underground. Gavin and Jason played for over an hour each, performing everything from Bob Marley songs, scenes from “Roadhouse” and of course their own music! At the end of the night, all the artists stuck around to meet the audience one-on-one.

Alice 105.9’s 5G-$pot

Over the summer Alice asked listeners to break out their video cameras, cell-phone cameras and web cams and create a totally original, 100% homemade Alice TV commercial. It took us an entire weekend to get through all the 30-second ads! In the end, a simple camera-on-a-tripod, one-take video entitled ”Ryan Darbonne” was crowned the winner by the judges. The more elaborate and colorful ”Alice in Musicland” was awarded 2nd prize and won the Listener Vote over Ryan by a slim margin.

Alice TV

Debuting with the new Alice1059.com in August, Alice TV has been a hit with over 120,000 views in the first 45 days. Listeners get to see how Alice DJs live in “Alice CRIBS,” get up-close looks at new Alice artists in “Alice Artist Spotlights,” receive celebrity access during the DNC with “Citizen Kate” and get daily updates from the jocks through their video blogs.
